Scott Bevan, BS, PTA
Scott Bevan’s interest in physical therapy developed from his lengthy background of competing in athletics at the youth, high school, collegiate and junior professional level. He’s always been interested in how you can improve your athletic ability by maximizing the body’s natural movement patterns and functional mechanics. His clinical interests include working with athletes of all ages and levels, and patients with pre and post-operative conditions. Scott is a people person. His charisma, sense of humor and non-stop energy allows him to easily form real relationships with people; he connects with and understands everyone he treats. This helps him know exactly what people wish to return to doing in their everyday lives, and specifically tailor his care to maximize everyone’s recovery.
Scott is a graduate of Danvers High School in Danvers, MA. He was a 4-year letterman as a hockey goalie and as a baseball catcher, captaining both Falcons teams to division 2 state titles. He was all-conference his junior and senior year for hockey, all-New England his senior year for hockey, and all-conference his senior year in baseball. He participated in Hockey Night in Boston, a summer tournament that is considered by many college recruiters as one of their most important scouting criterion for evaluating the top underclassmen in the US.
Following high school, Scott played one year for the Boston Jr. Blackhawks, a U.S. Junior A hockey team in the Interstate Junior Hockey League, traveling throughout Canada and the United States.
Mr. Bevan then went on to attend Salem State University, receiving a bachelor of science degree in sport and movement science, with a concentration in sport management, and a minor in biology. While in school, Scott continued to play hockey and baseball, and worked as a site manager, coach and instructor at a local baseball training facility.
Following graduation from Salem State, he then attended North Shore Community College obtaining a degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Scott’s clinical experience included two rotations exploring outpatient therapy at OrthoSportsMED in Needham and at Off Season Sports and Physical Therapy in North Andover, and one learning inpatient postoperative care at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. He gained experience working with athletes of all age groups, post-operative rehabilitation patients and general orthopedics. While enrolled in school full time, Scott was also a condo facility manager and foreman on the North Shore.
Immediately after graduating and earning his PTA license, Scott worked at a large nursing home in Danvers. After expanding his skills in long-term acute care, subacute rehab and SNF care, he returned to his roots as an athlete, and was hired at an area outpatient sports PT facility. Scott worked there for over four years, gaining additional experience being a key member of medical teams that worked at area amateur sporting events and road races.
Scott joined our HDPT team in October of 2019.
In his spare time, Scott enjoys working out, playing golf, hockey, baseball and football and watching MMA. Scott resides in Danvers, MA with his wife Kim and their children Kallen and Brynn.
